Heat Exchanger Network (HEN) Analysis of The Power Plant Industry Using Aspen Energy Analyzer Software

Heat recovery is considered as the key to improve energy efficiency in process design. An appropriate heat exchanger network (HEN) design an effective tool maximize from streams and minimize consumption. The objectives of this study were arranging optimum HEN based on annual cost power industry. Paiton Steam Power Plant, East Java, Indonesia, was designed using spreadsheet Aspen Energy Analyzer with Peng-Robinson equation. Pinch analysis conducted by comparing Tmin (10°C - 19°C) obtain Maximum Recovery (MER) Exchanger Area (HEA). optimized grid diagram. Simulation succeeded reduce most effectively at ∆Tmin 16°C. This integration contributed capital, operation, total reduction 14.3%. maximum 286,706 kW HEA 138.790 m2. result a solution for Plant effort enhancing company competitiveness.
